New Facilitating Organization for the Black River AOC

Posted on: November 3, 2016

The Black River Area of Concern (AOC) has a new facilitating organization! We are pleased to welcome LoCo 'Yaks as the new facilitating organization for the Black River AOC Advisory Committee. LoCo 'Yaks, a kayak and paddlesport group in Lorain County, has been an active Advisory Committee member and advocate for the Black River watershed. The group's Great Lakes Restoration Initiative (GLRI) Fund Grant Application was approved in October, and the application included plans for increased outreach in the community and a stronger presence in social media in an effort to engage more residents. LoCo 'Yaks assumes the facilitating organization responsibilities from the Lorain County General Health District. Congratulations, LoCo 'Yaks!
